New Modern Warfare 2 Update

A new update is out and here is what has changed:

- Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized.
- Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry.
- Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s.
- Improved player collision removing cases of getting into geometry and ‘elevators’.
- Mouse latency tweaks for more mouse movement consistency. (PC-ONLY)
- Fixes to prevent various texture hacks (PC-ONLY)

- Fix to prevent various XP hacks, including the prevention of obtaining negative XP.
These fixes, excluding the ones I’ve labeled as (PC-ONLY), are currently in test for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions as well. Before you ask why there is a delay from PC to consoles, it’s because we can update IW-NET directly and therefore the fastest. The console versions require additional testing through their respective manufacturers.

How to unlock the Modern Warfare 2 console

Remember on the first Modern Warfare where you could just press the little button underneath "ESC" when you wanted to enable the console? Well for some reason they took that feature out of the new Modern Warfare so here's how to unlock it:

Step 1
Download  Modern Warfare 2 Console Fix.
Step 2
Put these files in to your game folder.
Step3
Run the game.

Step 4

Run conclient.exe and press inject, the game will reboot after you do this.
Step5
Open LoaderX.exe and press auto inject.
If any error comes like a version error, then press ~ key. if you get the error like version is different then open the game with steam like in the first run and press “Shift” + “~” key to open the full console.

WARNING: Please do use at your own risk, if you need further help be sure to comment here and I'll try my best!

Looking to increase your Kill/Death ratio?

When I first started playing the first Modern Warfare, I was getting about 10 kills a match, and a minimum of 20 deaths. This wasn't good for my KD, I've not been on for a while but if I remember correctly, It's still stuck at about 0.70. I started experimenting with different play styles; Running in Rambo style, Camping and many other ways. Well today I'm going to give you a few tips on increasing your KD ratio.

First of all, lets find a weapon you feel most comfortable with using. Depending on your level, you will have access to a large catalogue of weapons. During my lower levels I stuck with the M4A1 and the SCAR-H. The M4 is very accurate and with average fire-power, whilst the SCAR has high damage but it isn't the most accurate of weapons. You don't have to pick between those two weapons, just find one you are comfortable with and you should be O.K.

Now, lets work out a playing method, I'll start off with the DO NOTS.

1. You may join a game where your team is heavily overpowered by the other team, or you come out of your spawn area and you tend to die. If you are like me, I get annoyed by it and I tend to just run out over and over again trying to get a few frags, when each time you get fragged your self. DO NOT do this, you stray away from trying to even your score out, and when the score sheet appears when the game ends, you'll be wondering how you've died so many times. The best way is just to sit still after you spawn, and just pick the odd few that try and wander into your spawn area until your team get back on their feet. Sure, this might be classed as camping, but it would be totally different if you were doing the same thing when it's your team that are dominating the game.

2. DO NOT snipe on small maps. Unless you are very good with Intervention + ACOG. This one may be obvious, but some people still go ahead and do it anyway, and the results are almost 100% negative.

3. DO NOT use thermal scope on your sniper rifle on Derail. This map is absolutely atrocious for Thermal sniping. The whole map is covered in snow, and your enemies show up as white through your scope, well you guessed, they are very hard to distinguish from the surroundings. Believe it or not, the people who use Cold-Blooded on Derail are easier to see through the Thermal than normal players.

4. DO NOT try to take out a camper in an enclosed area, 9 times out of 10 they will have the entrance to their spot covered and you will just get claymored/picked off every time, I fell victim for this, I spent a whole match trying to get a camper out of one spot and I paid the price. Just head in a different direction and kill some other people!

5. DO NOT reload your weapon without finding cover first, whilst playing, I'm always picking off people who have just emptied a clip into someone and decide to reload running right through a hail of bullets. If you need to reload, quickly jump behind a wall or round a corner and do it there. (Sleight of Hand is highly recommended by the way!)

6. DO NOT unlock the Tactical Nuke until you are getting decent kills each game, it really is a waste of an unlock starting out.

Now lets work on perks.
If you are having trouble getting a decent KD ratio, it's probably because you tend to die often, so choose defensive perks such as Cold Blooded or Ninja. Until you are comfortable you have practised enough to get a 1.00+ KD ratio 80% of the games you play, I highly suggest you choose the defensive perks. Cold Blooded is great for hiding from enemy air support, I wouldn't use this for maps with many buildings though as it is a waste of a perk!

Choosing perks for individual maps
You might think, "What the hell is he on about?" But this really matters.
Lets take the map Wasteland for instance. Cold Blooded is a MUST on this map, 9 games out of 10 that I play on this map have at least 1 player that is using a sniper with a Thermal scope. It's easy to decrease your deaths by them, just use Cold Blooded. Create a custom class and name it Anti-Sniper/Air and set Cold Blooded, if you happen to join Wasteland, choose this class and have that extra defence against those pesky Snipers!

Secondary Weapons.
My all time favourite Secondary Weapon has to be the P2220. I find this weapon is stupidly over powered, the range is fantastic and it's actually easier to aim without the Holographic or Red dot sight. Now this is good, because you can give it the extra damage (not that it's needed) using FMJ.

If machine pistols aren't your thing then a shotgun might be your choice! The AA-12 is powerful, fast firing and not too bad of a range (for a shotgun!) This is great for clearing out rooms that have 2+ enemies in. Until you reach level 67, I recommend the AA-12 and M1014. When you do reach level 67, stick the Akimbo 1887's. I got so annoyed when I got killed by them because they were too good, but once I could use them, I got many kills!

Camping
You might not like the idea of camping, that's O.K, but providing you are using the correct perks, you can get a 3.00+ KD every game. Here is my kit for my Camping class:

Primary Weapon: M4a1 + Holographic Sight (or sniper if playing Afghan)
Secondary Weapon: P2220 + FMJ
Equipment: Claymore
Perk 1: Scavanger Pro (Stick down a claymore, and loot the person you kill and set another one down, also good for ammo and grenade supplies)
Perk 2: Hardline Pro/Cold-Blooded Pro (This just depends on the game, sometimes I just find that I am getting a 4 kill streak way more times than 5 so I get a Predator earlier.
Perk 3: Commando Pro (If anyone decides to wander into your camping spot you can have an advantage with your Melee attack.
Deathstreak: Final Stand (Lets hope you don't need this though :P)
Kill-streak Rewards: Predator Missile > Harrier Strike > Chopper Gunner.

Camping is simple, cover your tracks with a claymore, if it kills someone, go to where you put it down, loot them and put down another and simply repeat.

To get the most kills I recommend you use the following Killstreak setup:
Care Package > Predator Missile > Emergency Airdrop.

Take note, rewards from care packages (including Emergency Airdrop) do not count towards your killstreak.

If you get to Emergency Airdrop, you are going to boost your kills by quite a few (just make sure none of the packages land on your head!)

Lastly, I will finish with some of the obvious tips, dont switch weapons unless you need to (eg out of ammo), as mentioned before don't reload in silly places, make sure you have a clear path for your grenade to fly when you throw one.

Thanks for reading this long, but hopefully informative post. I'll be sure to update this post with more tips and info as I come across it.

Please recommend this site to your friends too!

Hans Zimmer - Modern Warfare 2 Composer.

You might have been too focused on blowing up Russians and delivering awesomeness in bullet form, but if you listen over the gun fire and explosions, there is music behind it. Hans Zimmer, a German composer wrote the music for Modern Warfare 2 and it really is quite amazing.

Here are some of my fav's:
